Gumigem Review and Giveaway {Giveaway 3/8 – 3/22}

Tales From a Southern Mom recently had the delight and pleasure of working with Gumigem, a line of teething jewelry that is not only nice for babies to chew and grasp, but gorgeous for mum as well!

poppy w necklaceGumigem was initially designed by a Scottish mom who was determined to help her son through his difficult journey with teething.  After various trials, she determined that the most convenient option was to wear a teether around her neck so it was always accessible, and she then realized she could combine a teether with a piece of stylish jewelry to create one very practical item!

Gumigem offers a variety of necklaces, bracelets and bangles to suit every taste and fashion and they range in price from $15.95- $29.95.

Each Gumigem piece offers the following:

Made from medical grade silicone

BPA free

Style forward design for mom (so they don’t look like she’s wearing a teether around her neck)

Shapes are specifically designed for grasping little hands

Dishwasher or sterilizer safe, or can be hand washed in soapy water

Bangles can be given to babies to play with independently (necklaces should never be used except by adults)

In short, mum can now feel pretty wearing jewelry again, without worry that her little one will destroy her favorite necklace, or come of some harm themselves.  There are no pieces to come off, no choking hazards.  Little hands are entertained, little mouths are soothed, and it’s one less thing to have to remember to slip in the diaper bag before leaving the house.P and mom necklace

I personally found the Gumigem necklace to be a superior product.  The silicone is silky soft and the colors are incredibly vibrant.  You really have to see them to get the full experience.  The silicone pieces are also generously sized and perfectly proportioned. I received the Gumidrop Necklace in Venom.  Personally, I loved the longer length of this necklace.  My 8 month old literally lunged for it as soon as I opened the package.  Her little hands loved exploring the different shapes and the texture of the necklace.  It not only kept her entertained, it kept her soothed as well.  I especially loved wearing the necklace while wearing my baby in a sling.  Grocery shopping is a tedious chore, and if you have to hit multiple stores, it can really tire baby out fast. And tired babies are cranky babies.  Wearing the Gumigem necklace gave her something to keep her entertained and fuss free! The cashier told me she thought it was a genius invention.

p E and MomEven my 2 year old was captivated by the necklace, it’s smooth texture and bright colors.  You can see her little hands in the bottom of the picture.

I also find that I really enjoy supporting mom-based business.  Even though Gumigem is now a multinational company, they are considerate and kind to speak with, and ultimately were founded by a woman.  I feel good about supporting their products just as I would any work at home mom.

Please check out the Gumigem website for a full price list, and pictures of all of their products.  You can also find them on Facebook or Twitter.
